Greetings, I'm looking for some current info on up to date design and certification requirements for India power cord plugs (non-Industrial), 2 pin configuration (unearthed). Also, a lead towards a current information source would be much appreciated.
The closest I have been able to find is reference to IS 1293 (three pin plugs and sockets) but in checking the Bureau of Indian Standards website it appears that standard IS 1293 has been withdrawn from the list of Indian Standards under Mandatory certification. Another reference for 2 pin reversible plugs and sockets is IS 370:1954 which also is reflected as withdrawn off the standards catalog by the BIS website. I see references to BS4573 as the compliance standard in some vendor catalogues for a 2 pin plug India configuration but am not clear on whether BS4573 is the design norm for India 2 pin plugs and how it stacks up against EN 50075 plugs used in some EU countries. Any insights would be most appreciated. Thanks with Regards, Kaz Gawrzyjal kazimier_gawrzy...@dell.com Dell Inc.
