Bill,
If your power supply is double insulated (two-wire, no ground) you
should be able to get away with two cordsets for the European Union
(EU):
* A BS 1363 plug for the United Kingdom.
*  A CEE7 XVI(2) or CEE7 XVII "Europlug" for continental Europe.

If you have a grounded, three-wire power supply, for the EU you will
need five cordsets with:
* A BS 1363 plug for the United Kingdom.
*  A NORMBLAD 4 plug for Denmark.
*  A CEI 23-16 plug for Italy.
*  A SEV S24507 plug for Switzerland.
* A CEE7 VII Schuko plug for the rest of continental Europe.

As I understand the situation, supplying cordsets with stripped ends
('pigtails') is frowned upon almost everywhere except Brazil, where
there seems to be almost no standardization of wall outlets...

When in doubt, it is always safest to check with your end customers.

This can be a very-messy area. In one of the first products that I
helped design at IBM, we wound up with over 160 final bills-of-materials
for 3 basic products, to take care of the worldwide variations in:
*  Cordsets.
*  Power supplies.
*  Documentation.
* Operating systems we worked with.

I have a web page on International Power, Plugs, and Languages at

This information is also available in Appendix L of my book Robust
Electronic Design Reference Book, Volume 2.

I have a more complete web page, which includes approval marks, approval
agencies, and my entire database on the subject, at
