Hello all,
I am having a problem when EFT testing a peripheral type USB device. The EFT pulse is upsetting the USB I/O on the support computer equipment via the USB cable when testing Product Earth. This error is generally related to USB High Speed (480Mb) data and does not occur with USB Full Speed (12Mb) data. I have heard from several sources that some labs use a decoupling network on the USB cable to isolate the support equipment from the EUT. The purpose of this query is to ask you what types of decoupling networks are being used? There are also modifications to the setup that affect the test, particularly related to where you power the EUT from vs. where you power the support equipment and/or EFT generator from. Your thoughts on this would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your replies!
