John,

FCC issued another update on September 21 2004. I found the latest version of
Part 15 to be on the FCC's OET website

http://www.fcc.gov/oet/info/rules/

at the bottom of the page, under the bold heading

OET rules available for download directly from the FCC web site

I have found the latest FCC rules and other parts of the CFR at the National
Archives

http://www.gpoaccess.gov/ecfr/

It is a beta site, and under the "More" link they say among other things,

The Electronic Code of Federal Regulations (e-CFR) is a prototype of a
currently updated version of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). The e-CFR
prototype is a demonstration project. It is not an official legal edition of
the CFR. "

Regardless, I found it to be a useful and reasonably accurate tool over the
last 10 months or so

As you know the hard copy rules are dated October of each year and are
published around February or March of the following year.

best regards

EMC-PSTC'ers,
Last week, while browsing through the FCC's web site, I ran across

   http://www.fcc.gov/oet/info/rules/part15/
with links to .pdf files for the December 8, 2003, April 23, 2004, and
July 12, 2004 versions of FCC Part 15 (47 CFR Part 15).

We had been using the December 8, 2003 version of FCC Part 15 for FCC
approvals. In 15.31(a)(3) it specifies using ANSI C63.4-2001 to test
intentional and unintentional radiators.

In the July 12, 2004 version of FCC Part 15 (may be downloaded for free
>from http://www.fcc.gov/oet/info/rules/part15/part15_7_12_04.pdf ),
15.31(a)(3) now specifies using ANSI C63.4-2003 to test intentional and
unintentional radiators.

So we bought ANSI C63.4-2003 from the ANSI Electronic Standards Store
(at http://webstore.ansi.org/ansidocstore/default.asp ).

Comparing the:
* July 12, 2004 version to the December 8, 2003 version of FCC Part 15,
*  ANSI C63.4-2003 to ANSI C63.4-2001,
I've found the differences listed below.

Are there any other significant differences between these documents,
that affect testing products for FCC approvals?

Thanks!
