Hello good people, I have an interpretation question on Packaged Drop Test per NEBS GR-63 for both edge drop and corner drop. The standard states that 'After the EUT has impacted the test surface, it shall be retained from toppling over'. I looked through the GR-63 standard and I did not see any pass/fail criteria that say if the crate is suspended by the strap after an edge, or corner drop, that would constitute a fail. With respect to the support straps, the standard advises to use safety straps for both the edge and corner drops.
If the EUT is top heavy and the support straps help to hold the crate from toppling over, is the result acceptable assuming the EUT functions normally after the drop? Looking forward to your response. Best Regards, Sylvia __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Check out the new Yahoo!
