Position: RELIABILITY ENGINEER
Rohnert Park, CA. area. Full-time, Permanent, No Relocation available
Department Description: System Verification Test/Hardware Test Organization
Team members are responsible for verification and test of all hardware,
software, and mechanical products developed by the organization. Members of
the Hardware Test team work closely with the electrical and mechanical
engineers to develop and execute parametric tests for all new hardware. All
team members are involved in projects from requirements through beta trials
and finally general availability. They are responsible for creating and
executing test plans, automating appropriate tests, bug discovery and fix
verification, and system regression testing. Lab Support personnel, in
addition to all team members, are responsible for a safe, controlled, and
efficient test environment.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Work within the Hardware Test Department, which performs verification
testing of new & sustaining H/W designs.
- Key role will be Reliability Specialist, focusing on design quality testing
utilizing HALT/HASS equipment & processes.
- Establish test procedures for Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Highly
Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS).
- Primary responsibility for all HALT/HASS operations and for its efficient
use.
- Support Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations with quality
concerns and reliability issues (utilizing HALT/HASS and system failure
analysis processes).
- Generate test plan documentation and perform detailed reporting of results.
- Provide technical concepts through presentations, documentation and reports.
- Follow TL9000 practices.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
- 10-15 years experience in Hardware Reliability testing with special emphasis
in Telecommunications and/or video set top hardware.
- BS in EE or related Engineering field.
- In-depth understanding of electronic hardware reliability concepts and
accelerated stress testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of quality disciplines, reliability statistics, and statistically
designed experiments.
- Experience in new product development environment and product testing
preferred.
- Minimum two years of HALT, HASS or other reliability testing.
- Familiarity with reliability analysis, FMEA, and fault tree analysis.
- Experience with technical writing and preparing formal reports.
- Should possess key strengths in process improvement, analyzing information,
verbal/written communication and be action oriented.
- Knowledge and experience in testing access platforms w! ith xDSL is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ie: ISO9001, TL9000) is a
plus.
