Robert, Last year changes were made in the IEEE Communities web servers. These changes required anyone that wants to access the EMC-PSTC web site to become a "member" of the community. This means registering. To do that go here:
https://www.ieeecommunities.org/emc-pstc Click on the Join button. The next screen will give you two options. If you already have an IEEE Web Account, click on the login button. If you do not have an IEEE Web Account, you will need to create one. In this case, click on the Join Now button. The next screen will ask for your IEEE Member Number. If you have one, fill in the appropriate boxes and follow the directions. If you do not have an IEEE Member Number, then either click on Join IEEE or Create your visitor web account (this is located below the title IEEE Web Account - Registration). Again follow the directions. Once you have an IEEE Web Account go back to this page: https://www.ieeecommunities.org/emc-pstc Now you can just log in to the EMC-PSTC web community. Once you are logged in, you are at your EMC-PSTC Community home page. To search the Archives, find the link "NEBS, TREG, EMC-PSTC Archive <https://www.ieeecommunities.org/commun ty/maillists/index.jsp?cid=159768&uid=B22A0CF27831690CA34083EAD93ED435>" in the list on the left hand side of the screen. You may have to scroll down a bit. Click on that link. The new page will have the title NEBS, TREG, EMC-PSTC Archive <https://www.ieeecommunities.org/commun ty/maillists/index.jsp?cid=159768&uid=B22A0CF27831690CA34083EAD93ED435> in a light blue bar. Below the title is a gray bar with buttons. Click on the Archive button. The new page shows you all of the archive files accessible to you. There are archives from three forums here, NEBS, TREG, and EMC-PSTC. You can sort the list of archives by clicking on the words Mailing Lists. One click will put the end of the alphabet first. Click again and see all of the EMC archives now at the top of the list. Click on any archive title and that particular file will be opened. The messages will appear in order and you can manually step through them one at a time. To search for a given message (or contents of) go back to the gray bar (mentioned above) and click on Search. A window will open allowing you to enter or select search parameters. Choose your search parameters carefully. The larger an archive file is, the longer it takes to search it. And, the more archives you search at once, the longer it takes. I will leave the rest up to you. I would be interested in your search experiences if you want to share them. Please do so off line. I will pass along appropriate comments to our web master for possible improvements. One final note, the archives are current through the end of 2004. (It took us quite a few weeks to get that done back in December to February.) There are no 2005 messages in the archive as yet.
