Another excellent article! An experiment you might try is a triaxial
shield. I do this using copper tape over the coaxial cable insulation.
The shield is connected to the coaxial shield at each end of the coax.
This experiment might help prove your hypothesis. 

I sometimes approach these things using the three conditions of
Knowledge:

1) We need True belief
2) It must be true
3) We must have a justification for believing it

Hi All,

I have been writing again, this time about how to recognize an 
important mechanism whereby EMI can creep into scope measurements.

This month's Technical Tidbit discusses mechanisms whereby error can 
be generated in a measurement by EMI from the source itself.

Abstract: Measurement of high amplitude impulsive signals, such as 
ESD, can incur errors due to radiated effects. The characteristics of 
these effects are discussed and ways to spot such errors in a 
measurement are given.
