It is necessary to distinguish carefully between disturbance levels that 
may prevent correct operation and disturbance levels that can cause 
damage to equipment that is not powered. The latter levels are very much 
higher than the former.

Experience shows that damage due to EM disturbances in transit is 
EXTREMELY rare. If it were not, there would be a very large number of 
reports, because of the implications.
