Dear All, Israel customs cannot insist on emc and safety reports. However, like most other countries, they have the right of stopping a product that is regulated and which does not have an Israel approval (whether from the SII, Health Ministry, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Communications, etc.). Products shiped to Israel must have the importer's name and address on the packaging in Hebrew. If product is regulated, the importer is notified and if he cannot produce a certificate for the product, then samples of the product would have to be submitted to the applicable entity for tests and certification. Typically for safety/emc of ITE, in-country testing is required unless product has a CB (in which case the safety part is accepted). There is also a procedure for shipping prototypes and getting an exemption. You must work toether with the Israeli subsidiary of the company as they are familiar wit the rules and regulations.
