DESCRIPTION: Pelco is looking for a Safety & Environmental Regulatory Engineer who will be working closely with design engineering teams to assist them in creating products that will meet or exceed all regulatory requirements regarding safety and environmental issues. Will write and review policies, procedures and requirements for product safety and environmental capabilities. Will review products and make recommendations on product safety and environmental requirements. Will participate in management reviews when International NCB issues are involved. SPECIFIC SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Able to anticipate and identify problems and provide options for resolution. * Able to comprehend complex issues and regulations, translate them into actionable processes and explain them to management and project managers. * Expert knowledge of national and international regulatory requirements regarding product safety. * Expert knowledge of product safety and environmental testing. * Knowledge of requirements for flameproof equipment and similar certifications. * Minimum of 4 years work experience designing for international compliance for safety and environmental standards. * In-depth knowledge of the UL 60950 or 60065 series of standards. * Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience. * Proven ability to create and present instruction on safety and environmental engineering. * Four or more years work experience designing for international compliance for safety and environmental standards. DESIREABLES * Experienced with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. * Familiarity with UL’s CTDP Program.
