RE: RoHS-like legislation in Australia and New Zealand

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

All,

I did a quick search on Google and found a wide number of articles all making
the statement "Taiwan, Korea, Canada, and Australia are initiating versions of
the RoHS directive."  This disturbing bit is that none of these articles cite
references for the statement and all seem to quote everyone else, verbatim! 
This is beginning to look a little like an urban legend.  Being from the
"show-me" state, I would like to know who authored this and is the source of
information reliable.  

I anyone able to help?
