I have often wondered about this 'parallel work' stuff. There are more problems than some safety standards having requirements with significant scope overlap. I have had one incident where more than one safety standard, that claimed to scope the same type of device, had contradictory construction requirements.
Some combinations of UL standards have somewhat similar problems, but these incidents have, so far, been addressed by the UL PAG documents.
