There is nothing in a phone save the battery to “explode.” The phone
would only have supplied the “shrapnel” debris.

Subject: Mobile phone killed one person in Korea

Today’s TV news said a person was killed due to explosion of his mobile
phone in the pocket of his jacket. The phone is from LG. Detail
investigation is undergoing. It is sad this is the second case following the
last case early this year in China. What is the current safety standard for
mobile phone and do we need to review it to prevent from recurrence?
