This is a viscous white liquid? If so, it's a water-based casein adhesive, I
think. Latex adhesives (toluene or similar solvent) would be bad news for
polyurethane foam.

John:

This "Liquid Nails" adhesive is a pale yellow or cream colored goop. It
claims compliance with ASTM C-557. The ingredients list is loaded with terms
like Hydrotreated Heavy Napthenic, Esters with Glycerin, Petroleum
Distillates, Steam Cracked Petroleum Naptha, Benzene, Ethenyl, Butadiene,
Light Aliphatic Naptha and Propanone.

It's definitely a hydrocarbon base, but it works great with anechoic urethane
foam absorbers. Did I mention that you get a little buzz when installing this
stuff?
