I am a cyclist and it's a well-known fact that certain LED headlights
interfere with wireless cycling computers. Not a fun thing to find out when
trying to follow a route sheet in the dark.

The remark about LED bulbs not being digital is interesting - open one up (I
have as job interview prep) and it's a switcher & one or more LEDs with a BIG
heatsink. Once the manufacturers get up to date efficiency standards, I can
only imagine this getting worse - kind of like the redesigned power supply
changes when California energy efficiency standards came into effect - the
filtering was too much of an energy waste.
On the other hand, I guess if there are no emissions requirements now, then
maybe there aren't any filters to skimp on later.

One thing of note - the LED bulbs are just now becoming dimmer compatible.
The older ones come with warnings to not connect them to dimmers. I have to
say I'm a fan of them though - my home office is very well lit on only 18
Watts of power. It makes a BIG difference in room temperature in the summer.

And to really make life “fun”, try using that dimmer with several of the
new LED light bulbs. I’ll wager you could make several rooms of your house
into low level reverb chambers. Because we could, I measured several LED
light bulbs to the FCC ClassB radiated limits, they were not in compliance. I
did present the information to the FCC, who informed me that they did not
consider the product to be a digital device.

        Good thread,

That might be a good thing. I can check up on it while away.

It's just one small example of an inappropriate use of technology, just
because 'we can'. I can see the marketing side of course, if competitor A
uses it, everyone jumps onboard or they're out of the race.
