Grace,

>From the point of view of your quality system, you should to an 'incoming
inspection' for equipment returned after calibration. I would suggest two
checks:

1. A review of the calibration certificate to check that the data is
'reasonable'. I've seen quite a few mistakes in these certificates, e.g. wrong
parameters calibrated, wrong serial numbers, etc. Obvious you are probably not
in a position to question 'reasonable' looking data. You should sign and date
the certificate to document your approval.

2. If applicable, a simple on/off check to ensure that the instrument is
operational.

        Dear Members,

What is the procedure to check equipment back from calibration? I
assume the equipment is fine after calibration. Is this assumption
acceptable (from laboratory accreditation point of view)?

        Thank you.

        Best regards,
        Grace Lin
