Hi Everyone, I have been writing again. Including this month, the last four Technical Tidbits in http://emcesd.com have been on unusual uses for a comb generator. This month the Technical Tidbit is:
Using a Comb Generator with a Pair of Current Probes to Measure Cable Resonance (A Useful Technique When a Tracking Generator is not Available) This month's Technical Tidbit describes a simple technique using a comb generator and a pair of current probes to measure the resonant frequencies of a cable. Abstract: A comb generator RF source can be a handy substitute when a tracking generator is not available on a spectrum analyzer. In this case, a USB powered comb generator RF source is used to supply the signal used to measure the resonant frequencies of a cable. Being an engineer, I like to express things in terms of Pi. So divide your age by Pi and you have your new age! I am 20Pi. Sounds better than my actual age! Doug -- ___ _ Doug Smith \ / ) P.O.
