Indeed, in fact I'm surprised that it needed an IECEE decision: as far as I know the arrangement has been Type X since forever. Furthermore, the Type Y definition is in need of review. While there is a special tool for compressing Heyco bushes and similar, an ordinary pair of pincers works quite well and causes no damage. Also, now that everyone (well, almost) has a security screwdriver kit and a kit of unlatching strips for moulded clips, the 'special tool' provision for opening enclosures is hardly valid. -- OOO - Own Opinions Only.
