Hi Jim:

According to the IEC web site, IEC 61000-3-2, Edition 3.2, dated 2009-04,
is the current edition.

This document is indicated as

    61000-3-2 IEC:2005+A1:2008+A2:2009

which means the base document is the 2005 edition and includes 2008
and 2009 amendments.

In my experience with IEC references, a common error is to indicate the
same year as the document in which it is referenced. The document
editing committee as well as the Central Office often overlooks such
details.

According to IEC 61000-3-12:2011, Clause 2, Normative References,
IEC 61000-3-2 does not cite an edition. The clause states:

"For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document
(including any amendments) applies."

According to the IEC web site, SC77A is working on Amendment 3, with
publication date of 15 December 2013.

I don't believe there is a 2011 edition.

Best regards,
Rich

Subject: Question about power line harmonics testing

The latest edition of IEC 61000-3-12:2011 (power line harmonics for input
currents >16A) has an interpretation sheet that references IEC
61000-3-2:2011 (harmonic for input currents <16A).

I cannot find any evidence that IEC 61000-3-2:2011 exists. The latest
version for sale appears to be IEC 61000-3-2:2009 (Ed. 3.2).

Does anyone know about IEC 61000-3-2:2011?

Jim
