In an aircraft lithium ion battery that can source hundreds of amps there is lots of parallel! And in truth the interior of these batteries looks very different than a conventional one because they all consist of a large number of individual cells (small batteries) wired together series and parallel, instead of a simple series of nominally 2 Volt liquid or gel cells in a conventional 12 Vdc or 28 Vdc battery.
