We are being told by this test lab that we must provide them the URL of
our web site where power consumption is published. We have not gotten
the data in the report yet so do not really know the numbers at this
point and so cannot post them on a web site. Isn't that why we sent it
to the lab?
You know the URL, but of course you don't know the numbers. Just offer
them the URL, and if they ask 'where are the numbers?' say 'you tell
us!'.
I am curious, is anyone else getting such a demand from their ErP test
laboratory to actually review the web site before completing their task?
On the same note - Annex II, Section 7 states "As of 1 January 2015,
the following information for networked equipment shall be visibly
displayed on manufacturers’ freely accessible websites:..."
So if I add the required information to a datasheet and said datasheet
must be "opened" or downloaded (as in a PDF file) in order to read the
numbers, does this comply with the above? Or are they speaking
literally, enter a URL and see the numbers immediately without having
to open files or whatnot?
No, it says 'visibly displayed', quite explicitly.
