All - It is my understanding that an inkjet cartridge that contains an electronic chip is considered EEE and is therefore subject to RoHS and WEEE (and of course REACH). 1. Is my statement above regarding RoHS/WEEE correct? 2. Is it also considered "apparatus" under the EMC Directive? I'm thinking no because it has no function on its own. 3. Does it require its own CE marking and Declaration of Conformity (at least for RoHS) if it provided exclusively as a consumable for use with professional equipment and is not available on the general consumer market? The user of the professional equipment obviously orders replacement cartridges as needed.
Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
