Jarl, I'd like that.
Regarding building a foo-into-g-code wizard, I think it's a great idea. I suspect it will be something developers are interested in and users want. -Sebastien p.s. I don't think the sourceforge mail server likes me very much. I've gotten this error twice now, trying to send this message: [email protected] SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>: host mail.sourceforge.net [66.35.250.206]: 550-Postmaster verification failed while checking <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 550-(result of earlier verification reused). 550-Several RFCs state that you are required to have a postmaster 550-mailbox for each mail domain. This host does not accept mail 550-from domains whose servers reject the postmaster address. 550 Sender verify failed On Friday 12 January 2007 05:15, Jarl Stefansson wrote: > Hey Sebastien, > > I tried several applications to convert dxf files to gcode but was > unimpressed, after several days of testing different apps I decided to > write my own application. > > The Parsing of dxf and creating g-code is easy, the hard part is > optimizing the toolpaths for speed and other parameters. > > The application is written in python and uses vpython for > visualization. > > The work isn't yet at a point where I am comfortable in sharing it with > normal users but if you are interested I can send you a copy later > today, naturally the work is all released under GPL. > > As a side note some of the functionality could be merged into Axis at a > later stage if there is interest. > > > Jarl > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > On Fri, 2007-01-12 at 00:35 -0500, Sebastien Bailard wrote: > > On Friday 12 January 2007 04:39, Dean Hedin wrote: > > > Yep, saw [EMAIL PROTECTED] thing on /. > > > > > > I looked over the reprap pages and I am curious if the software can > > > take a model and then > > > export the "extrusion path" in something close to g-code.
