Would it work to just use PID to control the spindle speed (not 
position)?

I wouldn't need the responsiveness of the servos but if the output would 
just go 0 - 10V and not fault if the S speed was outside of the 
inverters programmed limits, I think I'd be happy.  Perhaps the part 
program could pause and display a message box stating "Change spindle 
gears to A and E, press Enter to continue" like the manual too change 
does.
