The last line should be: linksp spindle-index-enable <=> m5i20.0.enc-03-latch-index Its confusing that the 2.1.x version of the 5i20 driver doesn't use the same naming convention as the other drivers. What most drivers call "index-enable", it calls "latch-index". I'm not 100% sure that indexing works correctly in the 2.1.x version of the 5i20 driver. But "halcmd show pin *index*" shows "latch-index" as the only bidirectional pin on the 5i20 encoder.
