If my memory is working correctly, the addition of the error message "unexpected..." was added after 2.0. It's not that the delays were not there, just untested. I've got ubuntu and EMC2 2.1.6 on an older Gateway laptop here, even with as much stuff turned off as I can get to, I get that message. I would not expect it to be able to run much of a stepper driven machine with it. Nice for carrying around and demonstration.
