I know that Bobcad/CAM does it right. Other than that, you are at the mercy of whatever G-code CAM package you use. I use Bobcad very rarely, though, as most of the work I do is strictly 2D, cutting out instrument panels and such. I have a bunch of programs that I use to make very efficient G-code for the common tasks. See http://jelinux.pico-systems.com/gcode.html for some of these programs.
