Hugh,

While the PMDX-131 step and direction pinout does match
the EMC defaults, this does not mean that you will not be
using the HAL features of EMC2, rather it means that you 
will be able to use the default HAL configuration for steppers.

Additional HAL setup will be needed when you set up the
relays and if you wish to implement a "Charge Pump"
safety lockout. We can assist you with this.
