I have compiled the linux kernel and small c files before, but I think make does all the real work. I am guessing a deb file is like a make file? Ideally, I would like to not use m64 at all, so I am trying to decide whether to use m64 to patch something together and have it work now or sit down and figure out how to make a real fix.
