There are two different IO file setups in EMC2 now, one for normal power amps, 
and one for the xylotex, which uses a different pinout, and is very popular 
for small mills.  You might want to snoop around & see which is in use in 
your .ini file and try the other.  We used to have to make a breakout kit to 
swap the pins around out of the radio shack rs232 adaptor, and I'm still 
using it, but should probably pull it out of the cable and use the other 
setup, but haven't found a round tuit recently.
