Fascinating. I can see why steppers like those might loose out against torque demands when you get the load 10 feet in the air. Each is pulling against each other while trying to raise the load. Eventually you'd get to over torque or fold the EMC poles no matter what sized motor was used. We had a real advantage with the cable hexapod because we had struts between the top of the poles where the winches attached.
