I did it -- ran the ultimate honor system Linux virus on my Ubuntu 5.10 desktop. I believe this was the first or nearly the first system setup from a Ubuntu-EMC CDROM. May the bytes rest in peace.
For those who don't know this virus it's (sudo rm -rf /*) but don't try it on a box you care anything about. I must thank Chris, Jeff, and Alex for all of their work making that system and disk and each one since. That install was the longest lived Linux install I've ever used and that includes all of the versions from RedHat 5.1,6,7,8 through Mandrake, SuSe, Debian, Knoppix and Morphix. The decision to move to Ubuntu for a distro was a very good one. You guys are GREAT! Now to fill that box up with the Athalon 64 Ubuntu server add a couple of ethernet and parport cards and get ready for my microwave link. Yea.
