I had not been thinking about this right.  The problem you are having
is that you don't actually have a joint 8.  Jogging and jog wheels
operate on joints, not axes.  Moving your axis W causes several joints
to move.  There is no way to jog axis W.

This is one of the things that will be fixed as support for
nontrivkins machines improves.  This work is already started on
several branches.
