Hi,

I am going to do a clean BDI install tonight.

Problem I have is hard lock up after 30 seconds to 5 min. I don't have
to be running EMC or anything but I am in the Gnome window manager.

  850mgz celeron, 256meg, Itronix laptop.

It will run for quite a while in terminal mode. Not a Gnome terminal,
but a Control,Alt, F1 no graphics terminal. But it will lockup eventually.

This laptop will run any non rtai Ubuntu indefinitely.

As a first step I will disable APM and ACPI, from the grub line.

Any other hints? Where do I change video memory as some one else has
referred to recently?

  Dan
