As someone else has mentioned the cutter needs lots of relief.

I use many threadmills, and often if needs arise make a single tooth 
cutter from worn out slotdrills.

Here's a quick vid I did for someone a while ago,   Lefthanded/ext/whit 
form.   Slower than a multitooth cutter, but got the job done.  Only 
downer for you guys is it's a mach controlled machine at the moment.
