Hi Rob,

thanks for your early reply.

Things are getting odd.

I'm just booting the actual live emc2 cd with ubuntu 8:

System A works properly - ubuntu loads and emc2 is running.

System B does load ubuntu but emc2 is failing:
I tried the sequence of commands prior trying emc2 - see the attached
document
I also attached the whole error output from trying to run emc2 in this
document
Sorry, there is no blank line or space between the terminal output and the
error output
The error output starts on the very first page with 'Print file
information:'
After trying emc2 the keyboard does not work any longer and the system hangs
during shutdown (power off necessary)

System C - the behavior has changed - it now does not even load ubuntu (the
only thing I'm aware of changing is
installing OpenSolaris on this System)
During startup of ubuntu I
Select language and
'Try ubuntu without any change to your computer'
'Loading Linux Kernel' is displayed and the progress goes to 100%
The ubunu logo appears and the progress indicator sweeps
Suddenly the screen is erased and displays:
BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1.1.3-5ubuntu12) Built in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands
(initramfs) [ 86.721556] usb 7-1: device not accepting address 3, error
-110
[ 97.248014] usb 7-1: device not accepting address 4, error -110
[ 107.774472] usb 7-1: device not accepting address 5, error -110
After that the system hangs (power off necessary)

Any idea ?
Again - the machine working has no Bluetooth device ???

On the System C (when it was possible to load ubuntu) I tried to unload
bluetooth with rmmod, but it didn't work (says 'in use')
Even with sudo and -f (force) impossible.

Thanks, regards
mario

HI mario

have you checked to see if realtime is running already for some odd reason

quick and dirty way is to run these commands, and try EMC see if it
loads a config

halcmd unloadrt all
sudo /etc/init.d/realtime stop

if you do a , u should see no RT compoents running
lsmod | grep rtai

see if that helps,

rob
