If you have the fonts in the tgz file, you can use them.... I suggest
expanding the tar file into the same place you have the python program
installed. The command is "tar -xzvf cxf_fonts.tgz"   ... looking at the
tar file it will create a subdirectory called cxf_fonts. Then if you
edit the engrave11.py file, you can change line 36 to point to a default
font that you like. something like 
fontfile = "/home/dave/cxf_fonts/romanc.cxf"

The other option is to install qcad... it can be quite useful for doing
part drawings. There are several dxf to gcode converters around that can
be used with the qcad drawing files and emc.
