So, have you read the FAQ at http://open.nit.ca/wiki/?WvDial ? Regards, John Kasunich Hello John Yes I did - didn't find it very useful. What's more there are no FAQ's on that site it links you to other sites, most of which are just selling their wares. I have been on quite a few sites regarding my modem Huawei E220 (Vodacom in SA) and one important fact is the Vodacom download for Ubuntu (to make it work) does not work with Ubuntu8.04 - works with earlier versions but not 8.04. There's a thing. I've also looked on the Ubuntu site 100,s of "E220 don't work on Ubuntu8.04" Seems after a few interchanges some just give up. Most of the instructions don't work. Many reasons. One guy however (and definitely not a computer fundy) has written a really good "How to ......" it is very easy to understand and follow. One more thing, he wrote it in a chronological order, now that's the way to do it. I went on the Ubuntu forum with my partition problem nearly two weeks ago, still there unsolved, had quite a few responses, although you have keep on reminding them, but it is still there unsolved. It was solved here (on this forum) mainly by Jon Elson not because he knows more than them (although he may) but because he CARES. So there ends to day lesson - gosh I feel better. Best wishes Dave Question: What is the main difference between a rocket engine and a jet engine? Come on have a guess. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
