Servos provide feedback to emc2 usually in the form on quadrature encoder signals. These are high-frequency digital signals that change too rapidly to reliably read over a parallel port. You need dedicated hardware to capture the encoder feedback correctly. Look on the Supported Hardware wiki page here: <http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emcinfo.pl?EMC2_Supported_Hardware> Anything that says it has "encoder inputs" could work for you. For driving the servos, EMC2 can output step/dir, pwm, and pdm signals. These signals can be converted to +/- 10V or just about any other servo control signal you might need, again using dedicated external hardware. -- Sebastian Kuzminsky ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
