You need to measure it with dial indicators, gauge blocks, anything that
can accurately tell you how far the axis has moved. I haven't done
anything with screw compensation, but I believe you need to pick a zero
point, command a move, then measure how far the axis actually moved. You
also need to move beyond the second point, then move back to the second
point from the other direction to get the other direction data.
