Just to clarify, I want two parallel motions, and it is okay if the ends
are "sloppy".

I realize "G64 P1" is _defined_ by EMC as "collapse motions under 1mm"
and is not what I want. I was just trying (and failing, apparently) to
explain why it is not the solution to my particular problem.

About what I want, but as noted it is fragile -- if I call this as a
subroutine with a 10mm cutter and an 10.4mm slot, I am back to
non-parallel sides.

G64 (no P-number) also does about what I want on one machine, but is
also fragile -- run on an another machine it may run in to a nearby
feature and ruin the part.

Put another way, what I want is the (nonexistant) "G64.1 P1" which is
defined as "do anything you want within 1mm of the end points, but slow
down if needed in order to follow the specified path more than 1mm from
the endpoints."

I realize that doesn't exist, and I'm wondering what people do instead,
since it seems like this must be a common issue.

Thanks!
