I believe torque or load is relative to motor current, if so, you should be able to get a torque value from measuring an analog voltage across a .1 Ohm (just an example) resistor on the motor or motor supply line, then divide by .1 . An analog Hall sensor might work also. The trick might be in "conditioning" the signal by averaging the real time data. If you have a separate mains plug for your spindle motor power supply, it might be interesting to plug a Kill-a-Watt between the supply and its outlet: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882715001&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Electronic+Gadgets-_-P3+International-_-82715001 (Short URL) http://preview.alturl.com/bpwo These things are really handy, especially with generators. -- Kirk Wallace http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/ http://www.wallacecompany.com/E45/index.html California, USA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us!
