Is it possible to configure a stepper as a spindle motor and if so - how? I have a little lathe set up as a rotary axis with stepper motor drive and it would be very useful if I could arrange it so that the spindle optionally worked (using another config file) as a normal lathe spindle. I have been trying to get this effect by physically switching the stepper driver input between EMC2 for rotary and a little signal generator for lathe use but this is cumbersome and messy. It would be better if I could just control it all through EMC2 and have spindle speed set automatically to give constant surface speed etc. Thanks,
