Oh, yes they can!  Not having any idea what the hell I was doing when I 
designed my own servo amps back in 1997, I gave them WAAY too much 
bandwidth.  The torque loop is certainly good to 10 KHz, at least.  I 
hooked up a dynamic signal analyzer (an instrument for making 
frequency/phase response graphs of closed-loop systems) and found the 
servo motors made SURPRISINGLY good speakers.  I don't have a way of 
injecting real audio frequencies from G-code, but if you fed audio into 
the servo amp's input, I guarantee sound would come out.
