2.2 Ghz quad core phenom, 4G ram, Nvidia card, moderately new, low end 
GEForce, nvidia driver about a month old, kernel 2.6.37 final, locally 
built by moi.  4 ea, 1Tb drives, one is pclos, the 3rd one is for amanda, 
the other two aren't mounted ATM.
