You only need EPP if you want to run an EPP type device on the port,
such as an FPGA hardware signal generator-I/O board. Just wiggling pins
on and off for user I/O can use SPP or what ever the BIOS is already set
to. I don't think the BIOS setting has any effect on add-on PCI parallel
ports. If you need to set an add-on card (non-NetMos) to EPP, see the
showport.c file here:
