I have a queation: how are pins numbered in 50 pin cable for Mesa cards? Is
it like in 25 pin LPT ribbon cable, where the order is 1, 14, 2, 15 etc or
is the order "normal" - 1, 2, 3, 4 etc?

On the flat cable the wires are numbered 1,2,3,4,5 etc with the red wire being
pin 1
on a 50 pin header the pins are numbered like this: (top view)
2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 22 24 26 28 30 32 34 36 38 40 42 44 46 48 50
1 3 5 7 9 11 13 15 17 19 21 23 25 27 29 31 33 35 37 39 41 43 45 47 49
The pin one end of the connector is marked with a white square or "PIN 1"
text on our cards. Also if you look at the back of a card, pin one has a
square pad.
