I did the "download the iso" and then the "burn it to CD on my mac" to make a bootable CD. Went to my new (to me) computer, booted, and did the initial install from the bootable CD. It worked wonderfully. There's something simple (what I call the "slap the forehead moments") that you'll find that you are doing wrong, and you'll know for next time.
