If syntax highlighting didn't give me a headache, I'd probably use one

On vim.org, or even with the source code, IIRC, there are many syntax
files. As many as you want can be installed, and the desired one
triggered by filename extension, for example.

But then I'm pretty GUI-dyslexic, and a mish-mash of multiple colours
seems to disrupt the sense of text, rendering it an incoherent jumble.
(Beauty, and all that, I suppose.)
